Breaking Boundaries

Individuals in wheelchairs have boundaries that the majority of the population does not understand. Little things that we take for granted, things that are second nature, are those in which people in wheelchairs struggle with every day. My concept is breaking boundaries. It is a metaphorical play on words in the sense that these boundaries exist and cannot be taken away, but as designers, we have an opportunity and responsibility to make life easier for people with disabilities. I designed a space with different boundaries, but they are boundaries that can be reached by any individual, seated or standing. In section, the boundaries are mirrored from ceiling to floor and give the seated individual an opportunity to exist within these

boundaries comfortably.
